Hi Scott – Your nearest decent sized town should have a flea market or craft store. Rent the space, fill it up, and check back every couple of weeks to get your money and restock. I tried craft shows and they were a bust and too much work loading, unloading, setting up, reloading, taking down the set up, unloading what did not sell into your garage. As with lots of things, the craft show promoter makes most of the money.
Scott sell them yourself, don’t let people take advantage of your hard work.sell them on Craig list, get a younger person in your area to help you with it,they know how to use computers, and u could pay them for there help, have shipping cost included in price, just a thought good luck.
You should know that outdoors woodworking projects are extremely popular. There are many small projects you can do for the garden, portico etc. A very charming and popular woodworking project is a birdhouse.
Hi there. I’m very interested in creating with wood. I’m good with my hands (I’m an oyster surgeon, after all) and I’m creative minded. I’d like to get started, but what I need is someone to buy what I make. I don’t have time to set up and sell somewhere, and I don’t wish to do it online. Are there companies that purchase what you make?
A spatula may not look like a typical lathe turning project but, in this case, it is. The lathe is used to shape the handle and add accents. We’ll show you, step by step, how to make a wooden spatula. Getting started Lay out the spatula shape. Mark out a line 4” from the end

Hello everyone.for a less expensive turning tool, I use a mini lathe for small turning projects..up to 10″. The smaller projects I have in mind are mini baseball bats, lamp bases, smaller bowls, candle stick holders, and the list goes on and on. my favorite turning projects are pens. I make over 100 different types of pens and pencils from inexpensive wood from all over the world..once you start turning on a lathe…you’re hooked..have fun.
If you have kids or messy dinner guests, this one’s for you. In an effort to determine how different finishes stand up to spilled condiments, Nancy Hiller took four blanks of curly maple into her kitchen-turned-lab. Here are her findings!
I’ll probably get pushback on this, but here goes anyway. I’d love to hear your objections. Look at the above picture. What seems odd to you? It’s not something small. It’s jumping right off the screen….
Time is a-wasting. The holidays are upon us. If you’re struggling to figure out one more something to build for a gift, then here you go; learn how to make a paper towel holder. This is a versatile piece since it is not permanently mounted to a wall or cabinet. It can be moved and

Let’s face it, most saws work, at least initially. Plus, how a saw performs after years of use is often more important than how it works when it’s new. With this in mind, how much are reviews really worth? Musings from Chris Schwarz.
Many new chisels, especially most premium-quality chisels, have sharp lands (the beveled side edges). Some people wear cotton gloves to protect their hands when using these, but I don’t like the loss of feel and sensitivity…
A blanket chest is a utility item of everyday need in a majority of households. And that makes it one of the best sellers. Once again, the stress on making this woodworking project is on quality, endurance and finish. The design and the construction can be left simple.

The best advice I could give you is to learn WordPress or find a friend who can help you figure it out. Once the light bulb goes off there will be no stopping you, you will have the power in your own hands to provide what your end user needs and to educate them about the benefits and your products value – in a selfish, wasteful, throw-away society who expect everything delivered yesterday and expect to pay dirt cheap prices for your skills and repetitive hard work. End of rant….Sorry but I just had to comment. I know what it’s like, don’t lose hope!
There was a time when toys made out of wood were the common thing. These days in most markets they have become a novelty. You only have to ask around to realise the premium, crazy prices being charged by stores for wooden toys for children. Wooden toys are a hot selling category for many reasons.
Hi Eva – Lots of folks rent space in upscale flea markets/craft stores to sell their projects. I have not had to do that yet since I have had good luck selling on Craigslist. BUT< BEWARE that scam artists work Craigslist. When they email you and ask about the "ITEM" rather than the project by name, that's a scam artist, delete them. Do not open them. I have a full time business and my shop time for projects is limited so I don't make a bunch of things. One more tip, lumber is much cheaper at a local saw mill, rather than lumber yards. Check them out in your area. A blanket chest is a good wood project. In fact, any kind of a chest is usually a good project to make and sell. Wooden chests look great anywhere in the house and they can be used as a convenient storage for lots of things, including blankets. You can even design one to work as a centre table as well as storage. On the surface, basic geometry skills can seem like magic or just a cool trick. We sat down with Chad Stanton to learn why geometry is a crucial skill for woodworkers and not just another “life-hack.” This turned lidded box has the power to make your sweetheart smile on Valentine’s Day, or any other day for that matter. Small is beautiful. That’s because this intermediate level turning project can be done in an afternoon at a cost that can be next to nothing. If you have some rescued firewood or off-cuts I do trust all the ideas you’ve introduced in your post. They’re very convincing and will definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are very brief for beginners. May you please prolong them a bit from subsequent time? Thanks for the post. Children wooden toys are definitely a profitable niche, but woodworkers are deterred in working in this niche because laws in the US require mandatory testing and compliance with certain safety standards. This is often an expensive process and difficult to engage in for individual woodworkers with small businesses. See everything from simple wood projects, up to great wood working projects for the expert. Our entire library of woodworking projects and easy woodworking plans has excellent woodworking ideas for you. Since this is an item for children, you do need to make the toys safe, sturdy and durable. Do not compromise on the materials you use. It is very common to have a different set of laws coming into play when making things for children is concerned. Make sure you find out what these are in your state and to adhere to them completely.
